Keys to Taking Action Upon Your Intention

Keys to unlock action. copyright 2017 mary gravelle desire willingness opennessAs I wrap up the edits for the upcoming book on the Igniting Your Intentions process, I thought I would share what holds some people back from taking action – me included!

The keys to unlocking that frozen feeling that inhibits your ability to take action are commitment, desire, willingness, and openness.

Otherwise, there is no need to take action. If you are stuck in taking action, use these keys and you will move forward again. Below is an excerpt from my upcoming book.

Keys that Unlock Action

Many people are frozen for various reasons, unable to take action. It could be fear, doubt, procrastination, or an unwillingness to change.

As you can see from the chart, there are three keys that unlock action: desire, willingness, and openness. They will effectively unfreeze your ability to take action should you find yourself in this position.

During week one, you will need to use all three of these keys to help you take the first step of action.

The first key to unlocking action during the Igniting Your Intentions process is desire. It pulls you toward something that you long for. If there is no desire, there need be no action. Desire creates a need for some sort of action to take place toward forward movement. It creates the heat that will ignite your process. If you have desire, then you will likely be willing to act.

Many of us have placed desire on hold for any number of reasons. Learn to turn up the heat on your desires. It’s okay to desire a better life. If you have no desires, you are standing still. Maybe that’s okay with you. Put this book down now because you don’t need it. If you find yourself getting in touch with at least a pinpoint’s worth of desire as you read, keep going!

In his book, Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill says, “A burning desire to be and to do is the starting point from which the dreamer must take off. Dreams are not born of indifference, laziness, or lack of ambition.” Infuse your desire with fire and let it burn red hot to keep you motivated to keep going. Reflect back upon your desires. Always have more desires.

It is fun to dream and have desires. In the Teachings of Abraham, Esther and Jerry Hicks write, “There is nothing that you cannot be, do, or have.” It all begins with desire.

Begin this process by using this first key of desire. Infusing your life with desire is the key to more joy and happiness.

Nurture desire and life will be good.

The second key that effectively unlocks action is willingness. This is required in order to continue. If there is no willingness, there is no effort put forth. You have to be willing to do what it takes to take the action that is required for you to ignite your intention. Many times simply having the willingness to do something, whatever it takes, is all that you need. You might not have to do the thing that you did not want to do. But, you must be willing to do it; otherwise, your movement will be locked. You will be stuck in inaction.

Barbara Sher says, “The amount of good luck coming your way depends on your willingness to act.”[1]

With willingness, you move toward key three, openness.

Key three is openness. This is important because if you are not open to new ideas and new ways of thinking, you cannot move forward with a different kind of life than you have now.

As Albert Einstein says, “No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it.”[2]

You must remain open to what comes from the process and take action toward the fulfillment of your intention. Be open and willing to do things differently from this point forward.
