Keep the end in mind

Manifest Your Goal

Last week’s message was about the way to your dreams. This week’s message is similar. It’s a wee bit different in that it could be used for goals within a larger dream or project.

When I applied for the Mission MainStreet grant, I had a goal of achieving 250 votes in order to qualify for the next step in the process. One day while contemplating this seemingly large task ahead of me in which I had no idea how to accomplish, an understanding or epiphany came to me.
[typography font=”Cantarell” size=”24″ size_format=”px”]Keep the end in mind and enjoy the journey.[/typography]
This was more than words, it was a feeling. This epiphany came to me two weeks ago. I did not want to share it with you until I had tested its validity.

It is right on target, as I used these words during the next couple of weeks to attain my goal of 250 votes. Mind you, this was no easy task. There was a lot of effort put forth by me and a lot of other people helping me. But, the thing was I kept my goal of 250 votes in mind. I worked on enjoying the process instead of getting worked up with worry that I might not succeed.

Today’s video is quite short. It’s more of an audio with visuals because I recorded my thoughts on my phone.

Enjoy. Let me know if you have used this principle and how it has worked for you. Stephen R. Covey has written about this in his popular book, The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People. His Habit 2 was, “Begin with the end in mind.”

What goal do you have? How can you invoke this idea of keeping the end in mind and enjoying the process?
